What We Are Building

We are the Workbench Analyze & Develop team. We build daily-use workhorse features like interactive Workspaces, batch Jobs and compute Environment management that allow our users to research, train, and code data science models.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and work on mission critical projects including but not limited to:

  • Seamless Support for next-generation data science tools like Tensorflow, Ray.io and Dask
  • Durability and scalability enhancements for core existing features
  • Rethink of compute environments to allow smoother, more intuitive workflows

What Your Impact Will Be

  • Our features are used daily by users doing important work - like COVID research - even small usability/stability improvements can make our users happier and more efficient
  • Your full-stack development work will extend our team's capacity to deliver features end to end. You’ll help shape our growth both with your own work and your guidance of more junior members of the team
  • Your ownership of core software components will help us continue to raise our code quality and craftsmanship standards

What We Look For In This Role

  • Craft durable, well-tested code with an unwavering commitment to product quality. Experience with Scala and React/Typescript is necessary
  • Partner closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to define your team’s vision and roadmap
  • Coach and develop engineers, cultivating pragmatic engineering decision-making, and leveraging your technical expertise to constantly raise the bar
  • Lead and participate in critical technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across the organization and company
