Software Development Engineer, Global Media and Entertainment Security

Other Jobs To Apply

Application deadline: Sep 29, 2026

We are changing the way millions of customers interact with entertainment that enriches lives. Amazon Global Media and Entertainment delivers experiences at unparalleled scale. Whether it"s launching our own studio to create original and exclusive content or connecting players and developers to the games and communities they love, Amazon Global Media and Entertainment Security is at the center of customer, builder, and content journeys. Come build with us.

We are building intelligent automation that is transforming how security reviews happen at scale. Our team has developed an AI-powered agent that lets builders run security assessments directly from their development environment, generating threat models, architecture diagrams, code review findings, and remediation guidance in minutes rather than weeks. Early adoption has already driven measurable impact, and you will help us in scaling this capability across Amazon. This is your chance to shape the future of security tooling and help developers ship secure software faster.

This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative, startup-like environment inside Amazon. To be successful you need to be flexible, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating with ambiguity. You are a true owner and you think backwards from the customer experience, are passionate about the potential customer impact, and operate at all levels. You will create new, innovative customer experiences from ideation to prototype to production, and shape the team roadmap with your innovations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
  • You will be responsible for contributing to team by delivering code, helping set team"s technical vision, architecture, and development practice
  • Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
  • You will be responsible for delivering key customer facing capabilities, delivering high-quality artifacts.
  • You will be responsible for raising the bar for the team"s culture and helping grow the talent on the team.
  • You will work closely across product, customers and Security engineering to come up with new solutions for customers
  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

A day in the life

As a Software Development Engineer, you might start your morning in a design session with product and security engineering partners, translating a broadly defined customer problem into a technical architecture for a new capability. After lunch, you could be heads-down writing code for a key customer-facing feature, building scalable solutions that raise the quality bar for the team. Later in the day, you might pair with a teammate on a code review, share a new agent you have been exploring, or help refine the team"s development practices.

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates. 9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
