Job Description

A military talent pathway into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Turn your military technical experience into your next career.

You've built technical skills in environments where reliability, teamwork, accountability, and mission execution matter. Catalyst Military is designed to help you put that experience to work at Oracle.

Oracle's Catalyst Military talent program creates a pathway for transitioning and recently separated service members, veterans, National Guard members, and Reservists to build careers supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Prior commercial data center experience is not required.

We're looking for candidates with at least four years of relevant technical experience , gained through military service or through a combination of military service and other relevant technical experience.

Relevant experience may include information technology, networking and communications, electronics, aviation maintenance, electrical or cooling systems, equipment maintenance, or technical troubleshooting.

What Makes Catalyst Military Different

A career, not an internship. You'll join Oracle as a Senior Data Center Support Services Technician and be paid from day one.

A bridge from military to commercial technology. Prior commercial data center experience is not required. Your military technical experience provides the foundation, and Catalyst Military helps you apply that experience within Oracle's data center environment.

Structured support from the start. Your first six weeks include Oracle onboarding, technical foundations, supervised hands-on on-the-job training (OJT), manager coaching and feedback, and cohort-based learning.

Recognition of the experience you already bring. We evaluate the technical skills, troubleshooting ability, operational discipline, and experience you've developed-not simply your MOS, AFSC, NEC, or rating.

Your First Six Weeks with Catalyst Military

Catalyst Military provides a structured six-week technical transition designed to build on your existing experience while introducing you to Oracle's data center environment.

During your first six weeks, you'll:

  • Complete Oracle onboarding and technical foundations specific to data center operations.
  • Participate in supervised, hands-on OJT.
  • Learn Oracle technologies, tools, processes, and operational practices.
  • Apply your existing troubleshooting and technical skills within a commercial data center environment.
  • Receive ongoing coaching, support, and feedback from your manager.
  • Learn alongside a cohort of Catalyst Military participants making a similar career transition.
  • Progressively build the Oracle-specific knowledge needed to contribute successfully within the data center environment.

You're not starting over. You're building on what you already know to launch your next technical career.

Responsibilities

Your Role

As a Catalyst Military hire, you'll progressively apply your existing technical experience while developing the Oracle-specific knowledge needed to support critical cloud infrastructure.

What You'll Do

You'll:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and upgrade server components and related hardware.
  • Apply hardware maintenance and troubleshooting best practices.
  • Help maintain reliable performance throughout the equipment lifecycle.
  • Share technical knowledge and best practices with other technicians as your experience grows.

Support Network Infrastructure

You'll:

  • Support implementation of defined network communications and solutions.
  • Validate cabling, network environment builds, and connectivity.
  • Verify devices are connected and operating as expected.

Troubleshoot and Resolve Technical Issues

You'll:

  • Manage work through technical ticketing systems and support resolution within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and document actions and resolutions.
  • Identify and escalate recurring problems and technical trends.

Operate Safely and Consistently

You'll:

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and Data Center Change Control processes.
  • Meet safety, security, site access, and operational requirements.
  • Perform work safely and consistently within the data center environment.

Improve How We Work

You'll:

  • Continue developing advanced repair and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, procedures, and technical execution.
  • Share technical knowledge and best practices with your teammates.

Work Across Teams

You'll:

  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams, project teams, vendors, contractors, and colocation partners.
  • Serve as a technical partner in identifying and resolving resiliency, reliability, and availability risks.
  • Support quality execution and help develop less experienced technicians as your experience grows.

What You Bring

We're looking for candidates with a minimum of four years of relevant technical experience , gained through military service or through a combination of military service and other relevant technical experience.

Prior commercial data center experience is not required.

Your experience may come from one or more of the following areas:

  • Information technology and systems
  • Networking and communications
  • Electronics and technical systems
  • Aviation maintenance
  • Electrical, power, HVAC, or cooling systems
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Technical troubleshooting and fault isolation

You should also bring:

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and technical concepts.
  • Ability to follow established technical processes and procedures.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and reliable execution.

Your Military Experience Can Translate

There is no single military specialty that leads to a career in Oracle data centers. Representative backgrounds may include:

  • Army: 25-series communications and IT, 35T, and related technical specialties
  • Air Force: 1D7-series and related electrical, HVAC, communications, electronics, and maintenance specialties
  • Navy: IT, ITS, IC, ET, OS, CWT, and related technical ratings
  • Marine Corps: 06-series communications and related technical specialties
  • Coast Guard: Information Systems Technician and related technical specialties

Don't see your specialty listed? We still encourage you to apply.

These examples are representative, not exhaustive. We're interested in the technical skills, troubleshooting ability, operational discipline, and experience you gained through military service -not simply the MOS, AFSC, NEC, or rating on your record.
