About Us

We are developing a mobile application that combines real-world interactions with location and proximity technologies. Our team uses AI coding tools and autonomous coding agents to accelerate development, improve our engineering workflows, and build practical knowledge across the team.

We are looking for a senior developer who can take ownership of mobile development, deliver reliable software, and help our team become more effective at building applications with AI.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile App Developer with strong Kotlin Multiplatform expertise and an excellent background in native Android development with Kotlin.

This is a hands-on engineering role. You will develop and improve our application, solve complex technical problems, and establish effective workflows for AI-assisted and agentic development. Experience with GPS, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Ultra-Wideband (UWB), or related location and proximity technologies would be particularly valuable.

You will also share your knowledge with our internal team, including mentoring a junior team member who is learning to build Android applications through AI-assisted development, often referred to as “vibe coding.”

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve our Android application using Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • Design shared application logic and integrate it with platform-specific functionality.
  • Implement and troubleshoot location and proximity features involving GPS, BLE, UWB, and related device capabilities.
  • Address practical mobile challenges such as permissions, background execution, battery consumption, connectivity, and differences between devices.
  • Use AI coding assistants and coding agents extensively to implement features, investigate defects, refactor code, and support testing.
  • Set up and improve agentic development workflows, including task decomposition, project context, automated checks, and review processes.
  • Review and validate AI-generated code, taking responsibility for its correctness, maintainability, security, and performance.
  • Test relevant functionality on real devices and resolve problems that automated tests alone may not reveal.
  • Mentor our junior team member through practical demonstrations, pair programming, and understandable explanations.
  • Document important technical decisions and share reusable knowledge with the internal team.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated senior-level experience delivering and maintaining production Android applications with Kotlin.
  • Strong practical experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, including shared code, platform-specific integrations, and the boundaries between them.
  • Solid understanding of Android architecture, Jetpack Compose, coroutines, Flow, application lifecycle, and state management.
  • Strong debugging skills and the ability to investigate problems across application code, APIs, and device behavior.
  • Substantial hands-on experience using AI coding tools to deliver working software.
  • A strong interest in agentic coding and the ability to establish effective development workflows around coding agents.
  • The ability to assess AI-generated solutions critically and explain why an implementation is appropriate.
  • Willingness and ability to teach less experienced team members patiently and clearly.
  • The ability to work independently, communicate progress clearly, and take ownership of results in a remote team.
  • Interest in a long-term, full-time position and availability to start promptly after an agreement is reached.

Especially Valuable Experience

  • GPS positioning, location accuracy, sensor data, and proximity detection.
  • BLE discovery, advertising, connections, and signal-strength limitations.
  • UWB ranging, distance measurement, direction estimation, and hardware compatibility.
  • NFC and other device-to-device interactions.
  • Building automated development and testing workflows that combine human oversight with coding agents.

What We Offer

  • A fully remote, full-time role with a long-term perspective.
  • Compensation based on your experience, expertise, and responsibilities.
  • Ownership of meaningful mobile development work.
  • The opportunity to shape how our team uses AI and coding agents.
  • Close collaboration with an internal team that wants to learn from your experience.

Remote Working Arrangement

Our remote working setup includes a time-tracking tool that records mouse-click and keyboard-activity metrics and captures screenshots of the screen. This monitoring is part of the working arrangement and will be explained during the recruitment process.

Applicants should be comfortable working with this setup.

How to Apply

Please submit your CV and a short overview of relevant projects.

Include:

  • Your role in developing Android applications and Kotlin Multiplatform solutions.
  • Any practical experience with GPS, BLE, UWB, or similar technologies.
  • The AI coding tools and agentic workflows you use, with an example of how they helped you deliver a working application or feature.
  • Your experience mentoring junior developers or colleagues learning AI-assisted development.
  • Your earliest start date and salary expectations.
