About UPS & Our Culture

Four to five hours. That is all UPS asks of its morning preload associates — and in return, you receive Teamsters union wages, full medical benefits, a pension contribution, and a completely free day starting before 9:30 AM. Our Part-Time Morning Warehouse position is the best-kept secret in the local job market for parents who need school-drop-off mornings free, freelancers who want their afternoons uninterrupted, and anyone who simply values owning their day. When you search for morning warehouse jobs near me that pay well and end early, UPS preload is the answer that consistently surprises people who find it.

What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)

"I drop my kids off at school at 7:45 AM and I am already done with my UPS shift. I work 4:00 AM to 8:30 AM, and the entire rest of my day belongs to me. The union wage plus the morning shift differential adds up to a paycheck that covers my car payment and insurance with money left over. I have recommended this to every parent I know who is looking for morning warehouse jobs near me — nothing else in this market ends this early and pays this well." - Current Morning Preload Associate, San Antonio, TX.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Part-Time Morning Warehouse Associate, you work the preload sort shift — typically 4:00 AM to 8:30 AM — inside our package center, sorting inbound overnight freight and building outbound package car loads that every UPS driver depends on to run a clean, efficient delivery route throughout the day.

  • Early Morning Inbound Sort: Process inbound overnight package volume from the network's linehaul trailers, sorting every parcel to the correct outbound car or lane using barcode scanning and load chart reference during the critical pre-departure window.
  • Package Car Load Building: Build delivery vehicle loads in precise stop-sequence order, ensuring every driver can pull their route efficiently from the first stop to the last without searching for misplaced freight inside the vehicle.
  • Shift Completion by 9 AM: Consistently finish your sort assignment and vehicle inspection before the morning departure window, freeing your entire day for family, school, freelance work, or a second career without any schedule conflict whatsoever.

Benefits & Perks

UPS Part-Time Morning Associates earn a meaningful early-morning shift differential on top of Teamsters union base wages, with full medical, dental, and vision benefits, pension accrual, paid personal days, and UPS Earn & Learn tuition assistance — all on a schedule that ends before most people finish their morning coffee. Weekly direct-deposit paychecks make this one of the most financially practical morning warehouse jobs available anywhere in the logistics market.
