Position Summary

This position is within the NextGen Platform Enablement Team, specifically supporting Train 6 Reporting and Analytics. We are looking for an experienced developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of reporting and data solutions for Medicare programs, including S19/SSBCI.

The successful candidate will work primarily with technical and delivery team members to translate documented business requirements into scalable reporting, data, and integration solutions. Working primarily within Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery, the developer will design, build, test, implement, and support data pipelines and processing solutions using SQL, data transformations, EDM delivery, DAG-based orchestration, and TIDAL scheduling. The role supports operational, regulatory, statutory, compliance, and other reporting needs for the Medicare NextGen platform, including automated reporting, vendor integrations, and cross-platform data ingress and egress.

The team operates in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment, and the successful candidate must balance teamwork with individual accountability. The developer is expected to collaborate effectively across the team while independently managing assigned deliverables, driving work through completion, and meeting committed deadlines.

This is a hands-on development role. While direct interaction with business partners is not a primary responsibility, the developer must be able to communicate professionally and effectively as a subject matter expert on the technical design, data flows, and processing logic of their deliverables when needed.

What You Will Do
  • Translate documented business and functional requirements into technical designs, data processing logic, reporting solutions, and data pipelines.
  • Design, build, enhance, and maintain data pipelines and processing solutions in GCP and BigQuery, including SQL-based transformations and data delivery processes.
  • Develop and support EDM delivery, DAG-based orchestration, and TIDAL scheduling, including job sequencing, dependencies, and scheduled processing.
  • Develop and maintain automated data and reporting solutions supporting operational, regulatory, statutory, compliance, and other Medicare program needs.
  • Analyze source and target data to understand data relationships, define appropriate processing logic, and ensure accurate transformation and delivery of data.
  • Support vendor integrations and cross-platform data ingress and egress processes.
  • Perform unit testing, technical validation, and data validation to ensure solutions function as designed and meet documented requirements.
  • Investigate defects, processing failures, and data discrepancies; perform root-cause analysis and implement appropriate corrections.
  • Provide technical support during quality assurance and user acceptance testing, including researching questions and resolving identified defects.
  • Take ownership of assigned deliverables, independently managing development activities and priorities to drive work through completion and meet committed deadlines.
  • Collaborate effectively within a highly cross-functional team, contributing technical expertise while working constructively with developers, analysts, QA, data teams, application teams, and other delivery partners.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned deliverables, with the ability to clearly and professionally explain processing logic, data flows, dependencies, and technical behavior to technical and non-technical audiences when needed.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation covering processing logic, data sources, transformations, dependencies, scheduling, and data delivery.
  • Support implementation, production processing, ongoing maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced experience developing data solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
  • Experience developing and supporting complex data pipelines, including data transformation, orchestration, scheduling, and delivery.
  • Experience supporting production data pipelines, including troubleshooting processing failures, data quality issues, and upstream/downstream dependencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with EDM-based data delivery processes.
  • Experience with DAG-based workflow orchestration in a cloud data environment.
  • Experience with TIDAL scheduling, including job dependencies, execution sequencing, and scheduled processing.
  • Experience developing or supporting vendor integrations and cross-platform data ingress and egress processes.
  • Experience supporting Medicare or other healthcare programs.
  • Experience developing solutions supporting operational, regulatory, statutory, or compliance reporting.
