We operate in a dynamic, startup environment where innovation and customer satisfaction are at the core of what we do.<br><br>As our <strong>Support Department</strong> evolves, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated <strong>VictoriaMetrics Expert</strong> to join our <strong>Expertise Center</strong> team. This role is for an experienced specialist with a strong background in development and/or high-level systems engineering. We need a specialist with a proven track record of deep technical analysis who will focus on building our internal technical expertise to provide first-class assistance to our enterprise clients, develop internal monitoring, and create tooling.<br><br><strong>Role Overview:<br><br></strong>Your responsibilities as a VictoriaMetrics Expert will include:<br><br><ul><li>Taking deep dives into complex customer issues, reproducing them in sandbox environments, including under load.</li><li>Work closely with the development team to resolve identified problems.</li><li>Creating and developing internal tooling (Go is a significant advantage) to improve observability, automation (e.g., problem detection, AI integrations), and overall operational efficiency.</li><li>Developing internal monitoring, creating runbooks, dashboards, and guides.</li><li>Handling problem management: performing root cause analysis and driving long-term solutions, including creating artifacts (docs, runbooks).</li><li>Building and maintaining the internal knowledge base to support other teams.</li><li>Collaborating with other teams (engineering, customer success, solution engineering) to address complex issues and contribute to product improvement.</li><li>Participating in critical incident resolution with a focus on rapid mitigation followed by root cause analysis.</li><li>The preferred time zone for this position is GMT -5 – GMT -8.</li><li>We operate in a fully remote setup with a flexible schedule. This is a contract position (a service agreement with a US entity; self-employed or sole proprietor status is possible).<br><br></li></ul><strong>Key Qualifications:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Required Experience:</li><ul><li>A minimum of 4-5+ years in a senior technical position, such as Software Developer, SRE, Performance Engineer, or Systems Engineer role.</li></ul><li>Technical Skills:</li><ul><li>Advanced troubleshooting skills.</li><li>Deep knowledge of programming or scripting languages (experience with Go is a plus).</li><li>Practical experience with Kubernetes (K8s).</li><li>Knowledge of Linux (advanced knowledge is a plus).</li><li>Understanding of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting distributed systems.</li></ul><li>Soft Skills:</li><ul><li>Excellent communication skills, able to clearly explain complex technical concepts in English.</li><li>A passion for solving complex technical problems and building expertise.</li><li>A sense of responsibility and urgency working with external customers.</li><li>A quick learner with a proactive attitude and a passion for problem-solving.</li></ul><li>Startup Mindset:</li><ul><li>Comfortable with evolving processes and the need for flexibility.</li></ul></ul><strong>Preferred Qualifications:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Experience with VictoriaMetrics or other time-series databases/monitoring tools (Grafana/Prometheus).</li><li>Familiarity with VictoriaLogs or other log storage and analysis platforms is a strong plus</li><li>Experience with open-source technologies and community engagement.<br><br></li></ul><strong>About VictoriaMetrics:<br><br></strong>We are the company behind the popular open-source, high-performance time-series database and monitoring solution: VictoriaMetrics.
