About Us

Ship Central is a fast-growing fulfillment operations team dedicated to precision, speed, and efficiency. We are seeking a highly detailed and self motivated individual to oversee our label printing operation, help maintain high-tech hardware and software systems, and lead workflow continuous improvement across our warehouse.

Role Overview

In this roll you will be the backbone of our shipping and product labeling operations. You will manage daily label generation, optimize printing software (OMS/WMS), troubleshoot high-volume printing equipment, and ensure strict quality control so our fulfillment teams can pack and ship orders accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hardware Operations & Troubleshooting
  • Operate, adjust, and maintain Epson label printers and thermal print equipment.
  • Adjust layouts and print parameters to ensure flawless output (zero lines, borders, or misalignment).
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot hardware issues; partner with vendors (Kenco, Epson) for technical repairs.
  • Conduct regular spot-checks on print quality, weights, dimensions, and pick lists before routing to packers.
  • Systems Management (OMS / WMS)
  • Utilize OMS and WMS features—including automation rules, custom filters, and SKU mapping—to maximize output speed and accuracy.
  • Audit order mapping prior to daily print runs; coordinate with Customer Support to map new or missing SKUs.
  • Monitor new e-commerce integrations for order volume spikes, mapping errors, or system sync issues.
  • Inventory & Quality Assurance
  • Perform weekly physical audits of bulk label inventory and inserts; report low stock levels to management for timely reordering.
  • Track product backorders and coordinate with Purchasing and Customer Support to handle out-of-stock items and hold/release queues.
  • Log printing errors, analyze root causes, and implement corrective measures to eliminate repeating mistakes.
  • Team Support & Leadership
  • Collaborate with management to write, update, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Onboard and train new printing personnel; audit team adherence to quality standards.
  • Provide daily status updates to the Area Team Lead regarding print volume, system issues, and labor resource needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Technical Skills: Advanced experience operating and troubleshooting Epson label printers and industrial thermal printers. High proficiency with OMS/WMS platforms, automation rules, and cloud collaboration tools (Google Workspace).
  • Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of warehouse packing workflows, shipping label generation, and SKU mapping conventions.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, proactive problem-solving ability, and strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand or sit for up to 8 hours per day and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
