Social MultiMedia Producer (Contract), Remote Job

About the Company

HeyDrew is the tax strategy and execution platform built for small business owners tired of overpaying the IRS. Most CPAs only look backward, filing what already happened. We look forward: our AI identifies every strategy you qualify for, then a real team gets it done with you, all year long, not just at tax time. We're not a filing service, and we don't hand you a list of strategies and wish you luck. Every client gets a dedicated Tax Team that explains each strategy in plain language, backed by a licensed EA who owns every number and sign-off. No jargon, no guesswork, just real savings, done right. Ready to stop losing money to avoidable taxes? HeyDrew is your team.

About the Role

We're engaging a Social Multimedia Producer on a contract basis to take ideas and turn them into scroll-stopping social content end-to-end — concept, design, copy, publishing, editing, and posting. You'll be responsible for how our brand shows up across social channels day-to-day. Designing on-brand assets, writing the copy and messaging that carries them, editing video, and managing the posting schedule. This is a hands-on engagement for someone who is equally comfortable in a design tool, a video editor, and a caption box, and who can work independently within agreed deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce content for social media across our channels, from concept through to finished, publish-ready assets, and edit and post videos

  • Design content for different social platforms using our brand guidelines and design systems, adapting formats and dimensions to suit each channel

  • Develop the copy and messaging that wraps around the content — captions, hooks, on-screen text, and supporting copy for videos, stills, carousels, and more

  • Edit content directly, including video editing, adding transcripts and captions, and formatting copy so assets are ready to ship

  • Manage and publish social media posts, scheduling and posting across platforms and keeping the content flowing consistently

  • Contribute to and maintain a content calendar, aligning posts with campaigns, launches, and key moments

  • Keep all content consistent with brand voice, tone, and visual identity, and help evolve templates and reusable assets within our design system

  • Repurpose and adapt content across formats and channels to maximise reach from each idea

  • Monitor comments and engagement where relevant, and flag or respond in line with community guidelines

  • Track performance of posts and use insights to refine future content — hooks that land, formats that perform, best times to post

  • Stay on top of platform trends, features, and formats, bringing fresh ideas to the team

  • Manage source files, assets, and version control so the wider team can find and reuse work

  • Collaborate with marketing, brand, and other stakeholders to turn briefs and campaigns into content

Experience You Bring

  • 2-4 years of proven experience producing social content in a design-led content or social media role, with a strong portfolio

  • Experience producing social media content for a SaaS, software, or AI company is required

  • Excellent graphic design and visual craft — layout, typography, colour, and composition — with a sharp eye for what looks good on a feed

  • Strong video editing ability, including cutting footage, motion, adding captions/transcripts, and formatting for different platforms

  • Confident copywriter who can write short-form, on-brand captions and messaging

  • Fluent with AI creative tools and eager to use them to move faster and push ideas further (see tools below)

  • Solid understanding of major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Facebook) and what performs on each

  • Comfortable working within brand guidelines and a design system while still bringing bold creative ideas

  • Well organised, able to manage a posting schedule and juggle multiple pieces of content at once

  • Experience with social scheduling/management tools (e.g., Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, Sprout Social)

  • Motion graphics and/or animation skills

  • Photography and/or on-camera content experience

  • Familiarity with reading social analytics and reporting on performance

  • Experience working in a startup environment

Required Tools Experience

Design-forward with video and AI at the core. You don't need every tool listed, but you should be strong in design and video and genuinely comfortable working with AI tooling.

  • Design: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva

  • Video & motion: Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut

  • AI video & motion: Higgsfield, Runway, Sora, Kling, Luma Dream Machine, Pika

  • AI image: Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Ideogram, Krea, Flux

  • AI copy, voice & editing: ChatGPT / Claude for copy and ideation, ElevenLabs for AI voice, Descript for editing and transcripts

Common Interview Questions And Answers

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

The day I watched Marie Forleo's film separating the important from the urgent, my life changed. Not all remote jobs start fast, but most of them are...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
