Position Summary <p>The Public Health Epidemiologist is responsible for the Infection Prevention and Control Program, developed to control the spread of infections and/or outbreaks. Track and monitor transmissible diseases and notify local, state and federal authorities about reportable diseases as required</p> Minimum Requirements <p>Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Medical Technology, Epidemiology, Clinical Laboratory Science or a related Allied Health Science field is required. <br /><br />Master's degree in applicable field, such as MSN, MPH, MPA, MaED, or MS required. <br /><br />If BSN/MSN - Must hold current compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina is required. <br /><br />If BS in Medical Technology - Must hold current generalist/specialty certification by a nationally recognized board/agency is required. <br /><br />More than 5 years of relevant experience in acute care hospital or similar<br />required.
